2018 Portia Roble, Tempranillo, Ribera Del Duero, Spain

4 days ago   |   By Drink Me

Well oaked on the nose with a lush deep purple color. A big wine that shows wood, leather, and dark fruits, solid tannins and acid. Grips your palate and takes you for a nice long ride. You could decant for an hour for a smoother finish.

Delicate fruit on first swirl with a lighter ruby red color. Well balanced with solid blackberry and stone fruits. Excellent finish, very supple, and elegant. For the price point, an excellent red.

2014 Triennia de Portia, Tempranillo, Ribera Del Duero, Spain

Huge, black, and bold. Needed to be decanted for 2 hours and then softened greatly. A very big wine that needed some time to open up. The ripe fruit mellowed and evened out the tannins and acid. Dark berries, leather, chocolate coat your mouth. Superb and fun from start to the pleasingly soft finish.
